Chromosomal Analysis of Abortus Chorionic Villi in Missed Abortion.

Abstract

Chromosomal analysis was done on abortus chorionic villi samples obtained 20 women with history of missed abortion from Sep, 1995, to Nov, 1997. The results of this study revealed abnormal karyotypes, in 6 women (30.0%). All the chromosome abnormalities detected in this study were autosomal trisomies in 6 cases of 20 women. No abnormalities were detected in the remaining 14 women and there was no difference between those with normal and abnormal results in regard to age, number of abortions and abortus gestational age.
