Abstract |
Congenital intestinal atresia is one of the common causes of intestinal obstruction in the neonatal period. It is a relatively rare lesion, occuring in one of 2,710 births and results in high mortality during the neonatal period, but the survival rate has risen rapidly with the early detection on the antenatal care, the introduction of modern surgical techniques and total parenteral nutrition. This reflects the importance of neonatal intensive care on the outcome of treating. A case of congenital jejunal atresia diagnosed by ultrasonography prenatally in Hyosung-Catholic university hospital at September 1997.
